  There is and has always been a movement against that which is GOOD and PERFECT.  In the book of Genesis we are given how it all began, how it was ALL PERFECT and COMPLETE, and the persons involved in how it fell to where we are.  Elohim had created everything perfectly through Jesus as we read in Colossians, BUT WHAT WENT WRONG?  HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?  To say Christ has saved you, you MUST NEEDS believe all that is written, for Jesus is the Word, the Logos, not just the chapter 8 of Romans, not just the John 3:16, not chop and shop verses of scriptures building an HUMANISTIC religion to suit our own conscious or behavior.  To do the before mentioned, is a carbon copy of chapter 3 of Genesis, which placed US in this entire predicament, and the Christ on the cross.  YES!  God is love as American Christendom so often screams and God is HOLY, JUST, FAITHFUL, and TRUE.  "It is oft said, I believe I am saved by grace through faith..." (Ephesians 2:8 KJV) and Jesus said "WHOSOEVER BELEIVETH in HIM shall have eternal life..." (John 3:16 KJV) BUT I DON'T BELIEVE GOD WANTS ME TO BE UNHAPPY, I DON'T BELIEVE GOD WANTS ME TO STAY IN THIS MARRIAGE, I DON'T BELIEVE GOD HATES HOMOSEXUAL BEHAVIOR, I DON'T BELIEVE GOD WANTS ME TO HAVE A MODEST BANK ACCOUNT, I DON'T BELIEVE GOD WANTS ME TO HAVE AN OLDER CAR.  I DON'T BELIEVE GOD... I DON'T BELIEVE GOD... I DON'T BELIEVE GOD. 

  See the emphasis?  Purposeful in the two specific verses, yet purposeful in the following treatise of "I don't believe God" statements.  Oh you'll believe Him for salvation, prosperity, and whatever suits the earthly desires but reject what He has spoken on His other desires.  HIS DESIRES!  NOT YOURS, BUT HIS... We see this heart, mind, and behavior so perfectly illustrated in the following passage:

3 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

² And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
³ But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
⁴ And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
⁵ For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
⁶ And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
⁷ And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
⁸ And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.

¹⁰ And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
¹¹ And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
¹² And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.
¹³ And the Lord God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
¹⁴ And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
¹⁵ And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
¹⁶ Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
¹⁷ And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
¹⁸ Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;
¹⁹ In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
²⁰ And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.
²¹ Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
²² And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
²³ Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
²⁴ So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life."  (Genesis 3:1-24 KJV)

   See how subtle the enemy operated?  See a parallel for American Christianity?  See the parallels for "BUT I DON'T BELIEVE GOD?"  The problem lies in verse 1 of chapter three of Genesis, and HAS NOT CHANGED ONE IOTA SINCE THE FALL!  "YEA HATH GOD SAID?"  Four words of the enemy's twisting of scripture, for he knows it better than any man, and will use the human flesh and mind, chop and shop of scripture passages to combat you and blaspheme God every opportunity he can get! (Roaring lion concept and truth Peter warned of, and the thief who seeks to kill and destroy just like Jesus said in the Gospels.)  Even Jesus said to His Disciples (people who lived according to ALL His teachings, not just select things of teachings (read John 6, and pay special attention to the 66th verse of that chapter, to see who His true Disciples are.)  In the following passage Jesus tells His Disciples His instructions about going into the Judean country preaching the kingdom of heaven is at hand.  Remember He came to the lost sheep of Israel first, then the Gentiles:

10 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

² Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;
³ Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus;
⁴ Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
⁵ These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
⁶ But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
⁷ And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
⁸ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
⁹ Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,
¹⁰ Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.
¹¹ And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.
¹² And when ye come into an house, salute it.
¹³ And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.
¹⁴ And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
¹⁵ Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
¹⁶ Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
¹⁷ But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;
¹⁸ And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.
¹⁹ But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.
²⁰ For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.
²¹ And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.
²² And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
²³ But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.
²⁴ The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.
²⁵ It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?
²⁶ Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
²⁷ What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
²⁸ And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."  (Matthew 10:1-28 KJV)  Jesus gave specific instructions, and told them and by default US to be, "WISE AS SERPENTS yet harmless as doves." 
Notice in the following passage Jesus doesn't tell the so called devout believers in God to search only the book of Romans, Pauline doctrine, New Testament, some of the scriptures BUT search the scriptures!  Imperative declarative statement, implied instruction.  Yeah, it's that simple for you spiritualist out there.  If Jesus spoke and speaks it, He meant and means it.  If it IS WRITTEN, it is not to be watered down and rewritten.  How can man rewrite the LOGOS?  LUDICROUS and idiotic to even attempt, or justify that.  That is HUMANISTIC and SATANIC to do so.  Read this excerpt from brother Paul Washer:
  "The church by large has missed the point with regard to the cross."
  "If you stick Benny Hinn here and me right here and if you can pull both of us apart and if you ask Benny Hinn why he believes all the stuff he does and the facts that he makes millions of dollars and he will only stay in five star hotels and all this different things.  If you ask him why he does what he does that he will tell you:  "Because that is what the Bible teaches."  And if you ask me, I will say: "He is completely wrong!  And if you ask me why, I will say, "Because this is what the Bible teaches."  Now the question is, both of us using the Bible as our authority, so who is right?  You know that is the big question, who is right?  Well there are two things you must look at.  One of them is called context, and the other is called history.

First of all I want you to understand something.  If the Bible says, or if it makes the statement the barn is RED, it means the BARN IS RED!  I'm so tired of speaking on university campuses and hearing students say:
"Oh that's just your interpretation."  And I say: "Well here interpret it grammatically, not according to YOUR spirit, not according to the,  just grammatically.  Like you would in an English class.  What is it saying grammatically?  That's the first one.  The second point is this.  We have over 2,000 years of Christian history.  Ok?  2,000 years of Christian's writing.  Thousands of, no millions of books.
Now if I teach something on the Cross of Christ, and you compare what I teach to 2,000 years of Christian history, then you've got to decide who is right?  Well obviously 2,000 years of preserved Christian history and teachers are right.  Whenever someone teaches you something one of the good things to do is compare what they are saying to 2,000 years of Christian history.  If nobody agrees with them, they are probably wrong, aren't they?  And IF we Americans come up with some new theology, or new method or way of doing Christianity, yet it disagrees with 2,000 years worth of Christians from all over the world, who is probably wrong?  We are!  You see, and that's why I say today, that on the teaching of the Cross, most of the messengers are COMPLETELY MISSING THE POINT!"  Brother Paul Washer

So Beloved of Christ, I ask you this question is the barn red?

  The intent of this one issue of Bryant's Berean Blog is about standards.  We all have standards in many ways, I as a dad have standards for the people I allowed or prohibited in the lives of my own children.  Here in a quick and simple illustration, the Word of God speaks for itself Who the Bright and Morning Star is, Who the Son of Righteousness is, and who it is NOT!  Things get watered down when man changes, rewrites or twists the Word of God, whether it be unintentional or Satan inspired intentions, GOD HIMSELF warns in the Old and New Testaments about taking that which He has already spoken and adding or taking away from it.  WHY mankind would even presume to have a better way to say what God already said can really be seen cleary in just a few words, a simple twist phrase that began in the Garden of Eden, by the adversary himself, that wicked and subtle serpent the devil, who is NOT the Bright and Morning Star, the Day Star, or The Son of Righteousness!

Lost or disoriented in translation? As in misguided?

Every one in today's age and vernacular understands for the most part, how the medical field does with tumors, heart disease, and cancer. They attack it! The get inside, cut, remove, examine, and take preventive measures. Measures such as, open heart surgery. Cut through the flesh, saw the sternum in two halves, take a medical device and spread open the chest, to get room to work on the heart. Once they see which arteries are blocked, or valves are failing the can attempt to repair the heart. Restoring life flowing blood throughout the body. This isn't too different from the Holy Spirit's work in sanctifying we Christians, WHEN we don't grieve, resist, or ignore Him:

"21 Now the men of Israel had sworn in Mizpeh, saying, There shall not any of us give his daughter unto Benjamin to wife.

2 And the people came to the house of God, and abode there till even before God, and lifted up their voices, and wept sore;

3 And said, O Lord God of Israel, why is this come to pass in Israel, that there should be to day one tribe lacking in Israel?

4 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the people rose early, and built there an altar, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings.

5 And the children of Israel said, Who is there among all the tribes of Israel that came not up with the congregation unto the Lord? For they had made a great oath concerning him that came not up to the Lord to Mizpeh, saying, He shall surely be put to death.

6 And the children of Israel repented them for Benjamin their brother, and said, There is one tribe cut off from Israel this day.

7 How shall we do for wives for them that remain, seeing we have sworn by the Lord that we will not give them of our daughters to wives?

8 And they said, What one is there of the tribes of Israel that came not up to Mizpeh to the Lord? And, behold, there came none to the camp from Jabeshgilead to the assembly.

   Here we see from the two previous chapters, the radical invasive surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy of a people to remove the cancer of sin, they literally for all intensive purposes plucked the eye out, cut the right hand off, to keep the body from sinning. We come to Jesus, He blots out our sin, our transgressions, and iniquity. Then in the walk of faith, in the Holy Spirit, we grow from grace to grace as we purposefully make Godly choices enabled by He, the Holy Spirit. We choose not to sin, because of grace, because of mercy, because He first loved us! I know I deal with the flesh on a moment by moment basis every day. So do you Christian.

"12 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:

14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:" (Hebrews 12:1-14 KJV) The New Covenant parallel of what the 11 tribes of Israel did in removing sin, and laying it aside.

"Why 9/11 Occurred on September 11

Very few people seem to be aware of why it was that Al-Qaeda chose September 11 for the date of a devastating, carefully planned attack on the United States, but the information is illuminating and worthy of discussion. A better understanding of what drives Islamic terrorism assists in helping to understand why most Westerners' lack of any sense of history is dangerous. Conversely, Islamic terrorists are driven by events that occurred hundreds of years ago. They comprehend that Islam and Western Culture have been locked in mortal confrontation for approximately 1,400 years with a brief interlude that has caused Western culture to forget what is at stake and what is at risk. Part of the motivation of Islamic terrorists is to reverse the trend of decline in the Islamic world relative to Western culture that many trace as far back to September 11, 1683 when a large Turkish army was humiliatingly crushed by Europeans at the Battle of Vienna.
In 1683, the Ottoman Turks attacked Vienna. The Turks viewed Vienna as the gateway to hegemony over all of Western Europe. The resulting battle of Vienna was a watershed moment in history. The Turks had made elaborate preparations and had assembled resources and Jihadists eager for booty from throughout the Ottoman Empire. Europe was quite vulnerable as it was fractured into warring kingdoms and weakened by internecine squabbles that nearly allowed the Turks to conquer the European continent. However, the Turkish preparations were so elaborate that they could not be hidden and the Europeans were able to form agreements or treaties to assist each other against the Turks that proved decisive and which changed the course of human history.

The Battle of Vienna was a hard-fought war with an uncertain outcome. The Turks nearly conquered the city. All that saved Europe was the arrival of a relief force headed by Polish King Jan Sobieski. Jan Sobieski and his troops won a major victory against the Turkish forces on September 11, 1683. The victory was so compete that Polish King Jan Sobieski purportedly described the windfall in a letter to his wife as follows:


"Ours are treasures unheard of ... tents, sheep, cattle and no small number of camels ... it is victory as nobody ever knew of, the enemy now completely ruined, everything lost for them. They must run for their sheer lives . . ."[1]

Educated, fundamentalist Muslims feel the sting of the defeat hundreds of years later. In their view, they are the recipients of Allah's final revelation and it is humiliating to them that their "perfect" Islamic culture has declined relative to Western culture. They seek to reverse the trend and September 11 was carefully chosen to try and reverse the course of history and create a new September 11 that the Islamic world could celebrate.

Viewed in this proper context, the events of September 11, 2001 take on additional significance. It is too early to write off the attack as simply an American tragedy and a minor victory for the terrorists as many Westerners seem inclined to do. New polls reveal that many Americans are no longer significantly concerned about terrorism, but such lack of concern is far from justified.

There is much to fear by Westerners and much to celebrate by Islamic terrorists since 9/11. September 11 seems to have resulted in great exposure for the Islamic faith much of which is surprisingly and unwarrantedly favorable. While there have been some military setbacks on the battlefield, Islam continues its advance into Western culture via disinformation, immigration and faster rates of reproduction amongst Muslims as compared to non-Muslims. Europe is on the verge of completely being lost to Islam. Despite all of the warnings from such intrepid, brilliant writers such as Oriana Fallaci, I see nothing to indicate that Europeans will ever be able to take the strong steps necessary to rescue their culture from Islam's ominous advance. Most Europeans seem unable to recognize the mortal danger they are and their descendants are in and most Americans seem unable to grasp that Europe is in actual danger from such a vastly inferior culture.

Equally as alarming, much of the Islamic world seems to be sliding deeper and deeper into Islamic extremism and I see no signs of anything occurring to stop the decline or the trend. For example, Lebanon, Egypt, and Pakistan will be lost to Islamic extremists within the next half century. Oil wealth continues to pour into the Middle East with the adverse effect of hurting Western economies and providing the very revenue being used to finance the advance of fundamentalist Islamic ideology throughout the world, including the United States, as well as to fund international terrorism.

Sadly, the future looks bleak. Far from being the clear warning sign and wake-up call the tragedy of 9/11 could have and should have been, it appears that it will be nothing more than a terrible tragedy and temporary stirring from stupor somewhat akin to rousing a drunk from sleep and giving him coffee that will not result in the long-term steps needed to halt Islam's insidious, steady advance. While most adult Americans will not see any significant effects of advancing Islam in their lifetimes as long as terrorists continue to be thwarted in their goal of using WMD's within the United States, their children or grand children will not be so lucky.

I feel sorry for the legacy we are leaving to the next generation. I suspect that in contradistinction to the so-called "greatest generation" of World war II fame, we may well be earning a far less flattering label from our descendants.

The terrorists at least deserve some credit for having a sense of history. Conversely, even the horror of 9/11 seems to have been insufficient to permanently awaken Westerners from their decadent stupor and utter lack of any sense of history.See More

The rest of America may become complacent, grow in apathy, safe in their own little worlds, but I will NEVER FORGET my mom coming to my house, beating on my front door, I opened it, she said, "We're at war!" "They're attacking New York City." I turned on my television, about three or four minutes later, I watched live as an airliner hit the other tower, both Trade Centers smoldering now. I knew we ...were at war for certain at that moment, then minutes later, the report that the Pentagon had been struck, and my heart sank and began to realize, life in America has changed... we're at war with terrorist.  Our nation is in a precarious dispensation of history, crossroads or juncture of history if you will. Since 2001, we've sent America's blood and heart overseas, UBL is dead, and we have forfeited our liberty for a fiat safety and security. We have forsaken collectively the ideals of Natural Law, Natural Rights, the Rule of Law, and on the home front we're less safe than before 9/11. The battles and multi-faceted front War on Terror we've won strategically. Mission accomplished, thank you to the next Generation of America's Greatest for your sacrifices. Forgive us here at home for not being as brave as you were and are, to vote on principles and leaders that you collectively stood to defend. Our collective apathy exposed you to be more exposed and betrayed at home, and forgive us Father in heaven for our manifold sins against You, against the laws ordained from men who collectively used Your principles and expectations to form a nation under You. We've forsaken you, we've been silent, self absorbed with entertainment, amusement, and padding our own I.R.A.'s and savings accounts. We've stood by, or even worse voted into office people who fund child murders, yet cut military pay. People who fund and arm drug cartels, yet spy own their fellow innocent citizens. We've allowed bureaucracy to rule the land with no accountability to we the people and you veterans. Father, I cannot ask for your blessings for America, we've been blessed already and threw back in Your face. Your poured out Your grace upon the people of this land, and we trampled it under foot, and shook it in Your face defiantly and with the sickening pride that causes self destruction. The Truth is Father, and America, what's happened and is happening has happened throughout history, and consequences we are reaping are from what's been sown. You Lord are great, mighty, gracious, loving, kind, and JUST. I ask you Father for mercy, mercy for Mississippi, mercy for America, and your blessing on our military, our veterans and the orphaned, fatherless, and widows. I ask these in Jesus Name, while we still have liberty to write or speak it publically, and understand You are right and agree with what you say about us as a nation. Thank you U.S. military and veterans...thank you with all my heart, sorry this is what you came back to endure.

“Ephraim is a name for Israel that God uses to express a broken heart. The picture we have here is one of a spouse, tearfully forced to sign divorce papers. “How shall I deliver you, O Israel?” Israel (לארׁשי) means “prince of God,” the name God uses when He wants to express His affection, as a husband would call his wife “my dear.” Deliver in Hebrew is mogan (ןגמ), which possesses the idea of setting up to examine and regard. This is a picture of a woman who has placed her husband on this high pedestal and then learns he has been unfaithful. How will she regard him now that her whole image of him is shattered? “How shall I make (again the Hebrew word nathan, “to give”) thee as Adman and Zebiom?” Contrary to popular opinion, it was not just Sodom and Gomorrah that were destroyed; about five other cities went down with them. Adman and Zebiom were like the wealthy, privileged, upper-crust suburb of Sodom and Gomorrah. God realizes that Israel has set itself up for destruction. “My heart turns within me.” The word turn in Hebrew is hafak (ךפה). This word gives the impression of ruin, being overthrown, destroyed. It is the word for an imprisonment or putting in stocks. It also is used to express a tumbling or churning. I have heard the same words used by someone who was suffering a broken heart. They declare that their lives are ruined or destroyed. They feel imprisoned in their love for the person who broke their heart. Physically, they say their stomach is churning. When God says that His heart is turned within Him, He is saying that Israel has broken His heart. Then God says a curious thing: “His repenting is kindled.” Repenting is nakam (םחנ), a word expressing sorrow or grief, and the word kindled is kamar (רמכ), which means “kindling” like “making a fire” or “smoldering.” Many with a wounded heart talk of a burning grief or sorrow, similar to what God is expressing as He speaks of His burning grief. When we choose to love someone and give that person our heart, we make ourselves vulnerable to that person. We give that person the ability to deeply wound us, the ability to break our heart. When God chooses to love us, is He not making Himself just vulnerable to us? When we give Him our hearts, He gives us His heart in return. We make ourselves vulnerable to each other. Of course, we run no risk when we give our hearts to God, for He will not abuse our feelings; He will accept our hearts as a sacred gift and protect us. We, on the other hand, take His heart, toss it into a corner, and then go chasing after other gods to fulfill our needs, paying little attention to the heartbroken lover who has been so faithful and loving to us. Read Hosea 11:8 again. Do you not see a lover watching his beloved self-destruct without being able to do anything about it? Do you hear Him weeping over the unfaithfulness of His loved ones who are about to destroy themselves? Do you not hear Him weeping for His heart being broken over the ones He loves?

We need to understand first just what the heart is. The word used here is levav (בבל), which is the most common Hebrew word for heart and can mean your physical heart or many other things, such as thought, reasoning, judgment, will, design, affection, love, anger, hatred, courage, fear, joy, sorrow, and life. What do all these have in common? They all determine our behavior, the direction we go, and the choices we make. If we give our hearts to God, what are we doing? We are giving Him complete control over all our decisions and directions we take in life. His thoughts become our thoughts, His reasoning becomes our reasoning, His judgments our judgments, His will, our will, etc. To truly give God our hearts means we must know and understand His heart. This is why Solomon exhorts us to keep our hearts with all diligence, for if our hearts belong to God, to abuse our hearts would be to abuse something that belongs to God! So Solomon is telling us that the part of us that reasons, make choices, feels love, fear, hatred, passion, etc. is to be carefully watched over so as to keep us from making foolish choices. And how do we keep from making foolish choices? By scrutinizing our heart. How do we scrutinize our hearts? The word itself will tell us. The Hebrew word for diligence (nesor רצנ) is spelled Nun (נ), Sade (צ), Resh (ר). The Nun (נ) represents faith, the Sade (צ) speaks of humility, and the Resh (ר) is the Holy Spirit. By faith, we humble ourselves to the will of the Holy Spirit. When we give our heart to God, He unites it with His. A husband seeks to scrutinize his wife’s heart because if he breaks her heart, his heart will also break. If he brings her sadness, he will be sad; if he brings her joy, he will be joyful. Yes, there is self-interest in pleasing the one we love, but that does not define selfishness, for we have joined our hearts with that person. Thus, in the process of scrutinizing her heart, we are protecting our heart as well as hers. Selfishness involves a heart separated from that of another. Hence, when a husband joins his heart with his wife’s, he will feel her joy and her sorrow. So too when we join our heart with God’s heart, we will feel His joy and His sorrow. To scrutinize our heart is to scrutinize God’s heart. To protect God’s heart is to protect our heart.”

Why all the warnings in the Bible? Warnings, advice, preventive soul medicine, and cautions? Not so much "Thou shall not have temporary sin for a season" but loving warnings such as warning! Poison do not ingest! Warning! Diving into this shallow end of the pool can lead to serious injury or even death! Instead of looking as it as rules, commands, forbid I even use the TERRIFYING precept of l...aws and commandments (I speak to Saints) why warnings? Why flashing red lights and blinking yellow lights? Why do not pass signs? Why speed limits? Here in this passage of the last judge of Israel, who had judged over twenty years, we see signs that Samson KNEW he was disregarding. He knew God's ways, expectations, and loving warnings all too well, YET he disregarded the instructions of a loving Father, ignored warning labels, and dove head first into the shallow end of the pool:

"15 And she said unto him, How canst thou say, I love thee, when thine heart is not with me? thou hast mocked me these three times, and hast not told me wherein thy great strength lieth.

16 And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death;

17 That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother's womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.

18 And when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, Come up this once, for he hath shewed me all his heart. Then the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and brought money in their hand.

19 And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him.

20 And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the Lord was departed from him.

21 But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house." (Judges 16:15-21 KJV) Choices ALWAYS have consequences, sin ALWAYS costs someone, many times more than just the disobedient sinner.
"22 And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to OBEY is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king." (1 Samuel 15:22-23 KJV)
Saul knew God, God's ways, and he choice to ignore the warning labels and caution signs. It cost him dearly as well, Christian do not think yourself above loving chastisement because you are under grace and not condemned to hell, that's when the divine spankings really hurt.
