Since
The Word Is Life, Rejecting Him Is Death!
Genesis
2:7-17; 3:1-27
Parts
of John chapters 1;3;6
I must concede my
homiletics and Bible interpreter professor was given this
tremendous insight Sunday night/Monday morning as he slept, and
came in shared it with our class, and I have mused it over and over
until I must needs put it to paper! The Truth is already in the
Scriptures, so simple and applicable, yet so deep and entrenched in
the mysteries of Yahweh and His Gospel all at once. So Beloved or
friend if you have not recieved Christ yet, please let this Word
soak in!
First. Look what happened when Elohim, Yahweh, or God spoke! In
Genesis 1, Elohim spoke and light happened. Elohim said let Us
create
man in our image in (Genesis 1:26 KJV.) In chapter 2
of Genesis He breathed life into the nostrils of Adam. Two
narratives of the Creation story, one paraphrased or cliff notes,
and the other more detailed. Helping us combine the two chapters to
get a very detailed and descriptive view of what God spoke into
existence: "3 Through faith we understand that the
worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are
seen were not made of things which do appear." (Hebrews
11:3 KJV) So by the Word of God, the earth, universe, and
man were broought into existence. Notice God breathed life into
Adam and he became a living soul, a seat of the personal volitional
will, emotions, spirit, personality, and body of a man named Adam.
A perfect soul and flesh without sin, so therefore alive in spirit.
He was given liberty over all the Garden of Eden with a Word of
God, a command if you will, for his own protection, a Word of life
not to eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Read
what happens in the following passage:
9 And out of the
ground made the Lord
God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good
for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and
the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
10 And a river
went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was
parted, and became into four heads.
11 The name of
the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of
Havilah, where there is gold;
13 And the name
of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the
whole land of Ethiopia.
14 And the name
of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the
east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.
17 But of the
tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it:
for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."
(Genesis 2:7-17)
Beloved and friends we see
the awesome power, authority, absolutes of God's Word. It can be
seen what happened, the placement of Adam and the dire life saving
warning and command of God's Word. One simple command. A simple
warning. An absolute promise from God what would happen if Adam
rejected what God has said! Pretty simple and understandable
instructions for life abundant, life free, and life eternal with God.
Or death. Notice the following passage of rejection of what God
said. It began with a simple twisting of what God said. Just a toe
hold with Satan's twisting of Scripture, a foothold when Eve added to
the Word of God, and the stronghold of death when Eve believed the
lie, ate of the forbidden fruit, and Adam (BIG DUMMY) ate of it.
3 But of the
fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath
said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye
die.
5 For God doth
know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be
opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
6 And when the
woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was
pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise,
she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto
her husband with her; and he did eat.
7 And the eyes
of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and
they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
8 And they heard
the voice of the Lord
God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and
his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord
God amongst the trees of the garden.
10 And he said,
I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was
naked; and I hid myself.
11 And he said,
Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree,
whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
12 And the man
said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of
the tree, and I did eat.
13 And the Lord
God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And
the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
14 And the Lord
God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art
cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon
thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of
thy life:
15 And I will
put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and
her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his
heel.
16 Unto the
woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy
conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy
desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
17 And unto Adam
he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife,
and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying,
Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in
sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
19 In the sweat
of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the
ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and
unto dust shalt thou return.
22 And the Lord
God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good
and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of
the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
23 Therefore the
Lord God sent him
forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he
was taken.
Did they die? YES!
Spiritually
rejecting the Word, being cast from spiritual and physical presence
from the Person of Yahweh, away from the tree of Life, rejecting the
Word ushered in death. Spiritually man was and is dead! D-E-A-D
dead! And eventually Adam would physically die as well. Sin and
death had arrived! But God wasn't taken by suprise. See there was
still the Word, the Logos, Jesus the Christ and another tree to come.
This Word would come with a command of Life, for Creator Elohim His
love is equal to His Holiness, to His Wrath, to His Justice, to Who
He is! Jesus came, Jesus the Word Himself and give man the choice.
Not forceful, but still Holy, just, loving, and PERFECT WITHOUT SIN,
like ADAM WAS BEFORE REJECTING THE WORD! The hinge point, the crux,
the whole issue being recieving or rejecting the Word. Simple.
Understandable. God said it, He means it, and it is so.
"10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
12 But as
many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of
God, even to them that believe on his name:
14 And the
Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his
glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of
grace and truth." (John 1:10-14 KJV)
"3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily,
verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot
see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus
saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he
enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5 Jesus
answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born
of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of
God.
8 The wind
bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but
canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is
every one that is born of the Spirit.
11 Verily,
verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify
that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
12 If I have
told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye
believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
13 And no man
hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven,
even the Son of man which is in heaven.
16 For God so
loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life.
17 For God
sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that
the world through him might be saved.
18 He that
believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is
condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of
the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this
is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men
loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil."
(John 3:1-19 KJV)
"38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
39 And this
is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he
hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again
at the last day.
40 And this
is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the
Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will
raise him up at the last day.
42 And they
said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and
mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from
heaven?
44 No man can
come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I
will raise him up at the last day.
45 It is
written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God.
Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the
Father, cometh unto me.
51 I am the
living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this
bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is
my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
53 Then Jesus
said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the
flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in
you.
54 Whoso
eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I
will raise him up at the last day.
57 As the
living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that
eateth me, even he shall live by me.
58 This is
that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did
eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live
for ever.
60 Many
therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This
is an hard saying; who can hear it?
61 When Jesus
knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto
them, Doth this offend you?
63 It is the
spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words
that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
64 But there
are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the
beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray
him.
65 And he
said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me,
except it were given unto him of my Father.
The
verses of John listed above are written in their simplest, God given
understandable ORIGINAL ENGLISH MEANING AND FORM.
God
in heaven, my Father, our Father, His BEGOTTEN Son, our Saviour, and
only Hope. The
Author and Finisher of our faith, the Word Himself, is come. He has
already paid our sin debt, we
all must recieve Him, accept Him, and believe Him to be restored to
spiritual life eternal with Yahweh as Adam forsook, and as anyone who
rejects He the Word is FORSAKEN
AND DEAD. Beloved in Christ, share this gift of eternal life. It is
your given command. And those who may read this, those I can only
address as friend, please believe the passages of God's Word in
Italics and don't reject them. Please with a burdened heart I beg of
you read these passages out loud, and accept them, recieve them, and
don't reject them! Love in Christ Brother Jason!
