A More Sure Word of Prophecy

Jason Bryant
Again Beloved (true Saints) and friends, we continue with the counsel of the Word of God. Seeing how the Holy Spirit convicts us unto repentance and salvation, and in these last days there is absolutely no room for false doctrine based on human will or emotions we "must needs" get it right! Many people will tell you they are saved, they are Christian, even though there are no fruits of evidence. This is an eternally dangerous game to play seeing how one's eternal destination depends on it.

Let us, yes us (me included) be secure in our salvation, as the Apostle Peter denotes in this passage: "16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.

19 We have also a more sure Word of prophecy(Old Testament); whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy (Old Testament) of the scripture (Word of God) is of any private interpretation.

21 For the prophecy (Word of God) came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake (Word of God) as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." Here Peter in the New Testament is reaffirming the whole counsel of God is KEY in knowing Jesus and the sanctification (command to be like Christ in thought, deed, attitude, choice and actions) by the empowerment of grace, and the will of our Father to be like His Son! Now lets go into Romans and see where Paul drawing from Old Testament Word (Logos) is in agreement with Peter, because the Holy Spirit penned these verses through Paul's pen.

"4 For whatsoever things were written (Word of God) aforetime were written (Word of God Old Testament) for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

5 Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:

6 That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

7 Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.

8 Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth (Word of God) of God, to confirm the promises (Word of God) made unto the fathers:

9 And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written (Word of God), For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.

10 And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.

11 And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people.

12 And again, Esaias saith (in the Written Word), There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust."

Friends the Old Covenant is the revelation of the New Covenant which Jesus gave heart to. The precepts do not change, for God does not change, for if He did, He would be a liar and "He ain't capable of lying", He's God! Beware of emotional opinionated false teachers, they are not ministers of the Word of God.
