Elohim Breathed Life Into His Soul

Elohim Breathed Life Into His Soul

Genesis 2:4-9; John 20:19-22

"4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens,
And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.
But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil."  (Genesis 2:4-9 KJV)

Elohim, the Godhead, [Father, Son, Holy Spirit] breathed physical and eternal spiritual life into man, and his SEED [living sperm cells and egg cells plural] into Adam and the human family.  Before the Fall of humanity, man had no constraint on his physical being, for he was just as eternal as his spirit.  That changed when Adam fell, and sin depraved all of mankind.  The curse arrived and humanity died a physical and spiritual death, yet his spirit, our spirits are eternal.  In His mercy, because He is gracious and loving, God sent another breath for man to choose once more, no different than the choice that Adam made, man would once again be given a choice:

"19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
20 And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.
21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:" (John 20:19-22 KJV)

God, Elohim would breath once more to offer an eternal soul, a chance of life with Him AGAIN!!!!  For those whosoever, that will accept, repent, and believe, original intent of the Creator, Elohim will give eternal life with Him.  This is a for certain deal and fact, the human soul is eternal and will live in one of two places.  The choice is yours!  Love in Christ, Jason.

A Scarlet Thread

A Scarlet Thread

In the "Faith Hall of Fame" in Hebrews 11, there is a mention of the former harlot Rahab. She had a sultry past, as most of us do. She had heard of the God of Israel, and His mighty hand on behalf of Israel, and she believed. And she acted upon that belief, and God accounted her faith as His Righteousness on her behalf. Of her blood line, many, many generations later would be born an infant. ...The breath of heaven, Immanuel would and is come. Here in Joshua chapter 2 knowing this, notice the scarlet thread, the belief in God, and the request of "remember me" just as a thief on the cross would ask Christ:
"1 And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into an harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there.
2 And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, there came men in hither to night of the children of Israel to search out the country.
3 And the king of Jericho sent unto Rahab, saying, Bring forth the men that are come to thee, which are entered into thine house: for they be come to search out all the country.
4 And the woman took the two men, and hid them, and said thus, There came men unto me, but I wist not whence they were:
5 And it came to pass about the time of shutting of the gate, when it was dark, that the men went out: whither the men went I wot not: pursue after them quickly; for ye shall overtake them.
6 But she had brought them up to the roof of the house, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order upon the roof.
7 And the men pursued after them the way to Jordan unto the fords: and as soon as they which pursued after them were gone out, they shut the gate.
8 And before they were laid down, she came up unto them upon the roof;
9 And she said unto the men, I know that the Lord hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you.
10 For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed.
11 And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the Lord your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath.
12 Now therefore, I pray you, swear unto me by the Lord, since I have shewed you kindness, that ye will also shew kindness unto my father's house, and give me a true token:
13 And that ye will save alive my father, and my mother, and my brethren, and my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death.
14 And the men answered her, Our life for yours, if ye utter not this our business. And it shall be, when the Lord hath given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with thee.
15 Then she let them down by a cord through the window: for her house was upon the town wall, and she dwelt upon the wall.
16 And she said unto them, Get you to the mountain, lest the pursuers meet you; and hide yourselves there three days, until the pursuers be returned: and afterward may ye go your way.
17 And the men said unto her, We will be blameless of this thine oath which thou hast made us swear.
18 Behold, when we come into the land, thou shalt bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which thou didst let us down by: and thou shalt bring thy father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father's household, home unto thee." (Joshua 2:1-18 KJV) A foreshadow of grace and salvation, as far back as the day the children of Israel, entered into the Promised Land.  Love in Christ Jason

At The Eternal Bar Of Justice

At The Eternal Bar Of Justice

"8 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father."

Here at the Eternal Bar Of Justice, God's Judgment seat, Paul contrast the difference between eternal Adams.  The first Adam being fallen, opening the door to sin entering the family of humanity, and the second Adam [Jesus] Who would come to be the propitiation, the Redeemer, Savior of those who accept His gift of grace.  Paul contrast the two natures as Paul always does, as Jesus does in His teachings, they show "BOTH SIDES OF THE COIN" or teaching.  Let us look at some passages of Jesus and Paul on evidence of this rebirth of the Spirit, regeneration, or born again.

Jesus first:
"3 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God."  John 31-21 KJV
Jesus shows the "how" and "why" as He explains to an unsaved man, a priest of Hebrew, an educated man of the Word of God, yet Jesus had to explain it to Him.  It comes with rebirth, a regenerated Heart,  and the difference between Spirit [Jesus' Spirit] and flesh [first Adam's spirit] and the mention of the difference of the deeds of the two.

     Now Paul:
"13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another."  Galatians 5:13-26  KJV

Paul contrasts the different character, behavior, attitudes and actions of the flesh [first Adam] and Spirit [second Adam aka Jesus.]  Paul elsewhere by the Spirit in his own hand in other Pauline epistles shows us the "proof in the pudding" of the two natures.  "
Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;"  Ephesians 5:1-19  KJV
Here Paul by the Spirit, is showing the CONDUCT of the two natures.  So it matters... my conduct, attitudes, choices, behavior?  Yes friend it does.  Because grace has and is happening, the old nature is being changed.  So Beloved, the fruit will change.  Where is he getting this from?  Well... let us go back to Jesus:

"12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:

29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes."  Matthew 7:12-29 KJV  Okay, so there is a fallacy that is creeping in that Jesus is speaking ONLY to the Hebrew people here.  It is true that God purposefully wrote Matthew to the Hebrew mindset (Matthew is written in the style of the first five books of the Bible) BUT, it is still the Word of God.  Parts of the prophecies speak ONLY to Israel in Matthew 24, parts that were fulfilled in Tiberius' destruction of Judah in 74 A.D. and other parts of the same passage yet to be fulfilled.  The book is still a book of the synoptic Gospels, Jesus still saves, and the other synoptic Gospels are purposefully written in the Greek mindset, like Luke's account and John's account.  They are the Gospel that Jesus saves as well.  Just like Matthew.  The writer of Hebrews shows another account of a regenerated heart's change.
"12 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.
11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
12 Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;
13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.
14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright."  Hebrews 12:1-16 KJV  This passage is pretty self explanatory, the Holy Spirit empowers us to lay down the choices of the flesh, for a purpose, and the consequences of what happens when a regenerated heart doesn't.  If you have been regenerated, you are NOT CONDEMNED before God in heaven, Jesus carried that chastisement for you.  If He has, then your behavior will reflect it.  We still adhere to the moral laws for conduct.  Not for salvation, but because a grace covered heart will not hate which is the same as murder, a grace changed heart will not live to covet and steal.  A grace changed heart will not live to bear false witness, or commit adultery, or rape, or worship false idols.  Jesus did fulfill the law, the ceremonial and sacrificial law are GONE!  He kept the moral law because we can NOT.  He expects us to be imitators of Himself, obey the two laws that ALL OF THE LAW HANGS ON, Love the Lord your God with ALL your heart, mind, soul, body, and strength.  And your neighbor as yourself.  Grace only empowers this ability, and though we may fall, He lifts us up to walk again, none the less, adhering to this precept, the moral law is kept by default.  No Christian has a license to sin, liberty to disobey God's will.  No, BUT  when you do sin have a Mediator when you do, and your are not condemned before the bar of eternal justice.  Love in Christ, Jason.

Some Names of God, Attributes of God, And Names of Jesus, All In Agreement

Some Names of God, Attributes of God, And Names of Jesus, All In Agreement

NAMES OF GOD

(1) Elohim: The plural form of EL, meaning “strong one.” It is used of false gods, but when used of the true God, it is a plural of majesty and intimates the trinity. It is especially used of God’s sovereignty, creative work, mighty work for Israel and in relation to His sovereignty (Isa. 54:5; Jer. 32:27; Gen. 1:1; Isa. 45:18; Deut. 5:23; 8:15; Ps. 68:7).

Compounds of El:
  • El Shaddai:“God Almighty.” The derivation is uncertain. Some think it stresses God’s loving supply and comfort; others His power as the Almighty one standing on a mountain and who corrects and chastens (Gen. 17:1; 28:3; 35:11; Ex. 6:1; Ps. 91:1, 2).
  • El Elyon: “The Most High God.” Stresses God’s strength, sovereignty, and supremacy (Gen. 14:19; Ps. 9:2; Dan. 7:18, 22, 25).
  • El Olam: “The Everlasting God.” Emphasizes God’s unchangeableness and is connected with His inexhaustibleness (Gen. 16:13).
(2) Yahweh (YHWH): Comes from a verb which means “to exist, be.” This, plus its usage, shows that this name stresses God as the independent and self-existent God of revelation and redemption (Gen. 4:3; Ex. 6:3 (cf. 3:14); 3:12).
Compounds of Yahweh: Strictly speaking, these compounds are designations or titles which reveal additional facts about God’s character.
  • Yahweh Jireh (Yireh): “The Lord will provide.” Stresses God’s provision for His people (Gen. 22:14).
  • Yahweh Nissi:“The Lord is my Banner.” Stresses that God is our rallying point and our means of victory; the one who fights for His people (Ex. 17:15).
  • Yahweh Shalom:“The Lord is Peace.” Points to the Lord as the means of our peace and rest (Jud. 6:24).
  • Yahweh Sabbaoth:“The Lord of Hosts.” A military figure portraying the Lord as the commander of the armies of heaven (1 Sam. 1:3; 17:45).
  • Yahweh Maccaddeshcem: “The Lord your Sanctifier.” Portrays the Lord as our means of sanctification or as the one who sets believers apart for His purposes (Ex. 31:13).
  • Yahweh Ro’i: “The Lord my Shepherd.” Portrays the Lord as the Shepherd who cares for His people as a shepherd cares for the sheep of his pasture (Ps. 23:1).
  • Yahweh Tsidkenu: “The Lord our Righteousness.” Portrays the Lord as the means of our righteousness (Jer. 23:6).
  • Yahweh Shammah: “The Lord is there.” Portrays the Lord’s personal presence in the millennial kingdom (Ezek. 48:35).
  • Yahweh Elohim Israel: “The Lord, the God of Israel.” Identifies Yahweh as the God of Israel in contrast to the false gods of the nations (Jud. 5:3.; Isa. 17:6).
(3) Adonai: Like Elohim, this too is a plural of majesty. The singular form means “master, owner.” Stresses man’s relationship to God as his master, authority, and provider (Gen. 18:2; 40:1; 1 Sam. 1:15; Ex. 21:1-6; Josh. 5:14).
(4) Theos: Greek word translated “God.” Primary name for God used in the New Testament. Its use teaches: (1) He is the only true God (Matt. 23:9; Rom. 3:30); (2) He is unique (1 Tim. 1:17; John 17:3; Rev. 15:4; 16:7); (3) He is transcendent (Acts 17:24; Heb. 3:4; Rev. 10:6); (4) He is the Savior (John 3:16; 1 Tim. 1:1; 2:3; 4:10). This name is used of Christ as God in John 1:1, 18; 20:28; 1 John 5:20; Tit. 2:13; Rom. 9:5; Heb. 1:8; 2 Pet. 1:1.
(5) Kurios: Greek word translated “Lord.” Stresses authority and supremacy. While it can mean sir (John 4:11), owner (Luke 19:33), master (Col. 3:22), or even refer to idols (1 Cor. 8:5) or husbands (1 Pet. 3:6), it is used mostly as the equivalent of Yahweh of the Old Testament. It too is used of Jesus Christ meaning (1) Rabbi or Sir (Matt. 8:6); (2) God or Deity (John 20:28; Acts 2:36; Rom. 10:9; Phil. 2:11).
(6) Despotes: Greek word translated “Master.” Carries the idea of ownership while kurios stressed supreme authority (Luke 2:29; Acts 4:24; Rev. 6:10; 2 Pet. 2:1; Jude 4).
(7) Father:A distinctive New Testament revelation is that through faith in Christ, God becomes our personal Father. Father is used of God in the Old Testament only 15 times while it is used of God 245 times in the New Testament. As a name of God, it stresses God’s loving care, provision, discipline, and the way we are to address God in prayer (Matt. 7:11; Jam. 1:17; Heb. 12:5-11; John 15:16; 16:23; Eph. 2:18; 3:15; 1 Thess. 3:11).

ATTRIBUTES OF GOD

Because God is a personal Spirit…

I will seek intimate fellowship with Him.
“I reach out for You. I thirst for You as parched land thirsts for rain.” (Psalm 143.6)

Because God is all-powerful…

He can help me with anything.
“O Sovereign LORD! You have made the heavens and earth by Your great power. Nothing is too hard for You!” (Jeremiah 32:17)
  • God has the power to create anything from nothing (Ps. 33:6-9)
  • God has power to deliver (Exod. 13:3)
  • God’s creative power is beyond our comprehension (Job 38:1-11)
  • God speaks and things happen (Ps. 29:3-9)
  • His resurrection power is immeasurably great (Eph. 1:19-20)
  • His creation reflects His power (Ps. 19:1-4)
  • His powerful word sustains everything (Heb. 1:3)
  • He has power over death (Rev. 1:18)
  • No one can challenge what God does (Dan. 4:35)
  • Reveals Himself as the almighty God (Gen. 17:1)

Because God is ever-present…

He is always with me.
“Where can I go from Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your presence? If I go up to the heavens, You are there; if I make my bed in the depths, You are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to You; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to You. , (Psalms 139:7-12)
  • all creation is dependent upon His presence (Col. 1:17)
  • God’s continual presence brings contentment (Heb. 13:5)
  • God is everywhere and no one can escape Him (Ps. 139:7-12)
  • no task is too large or too difficult for Him (Jer. 32:17, 27)
  • One cannot hide from God (Jer. 23:23-24)

Because God knows everything…

I will go to Him with all my questions and concerns.
“He determines the course of world events; He removes kings and sets others on the throne. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars.” (Daniel 2:21)

Because God is sovereign…

I will joyfully submit to His will.
“All the people of the earth are nothing compared to Him. He has the power to do as He pleases among the angels of heaven and with those who live on earth. No one can stop Him or challenge Him, saying, ‘What do You mean by doing these things?”‘ (Daniel 4:35)
  • God controls time and seasons (Dan. 2:21)
  • God powerfully delivered His people from Egypt (Exod. 12:29-32; 13:13-31)
  • God has dominion over the affairs of people (Job 12:13-25)

  • The Creator looks after His creation (Ps. 104:3-32)
  • The powerful Creator reduces human rulers to nothing (Isa. 40:21-26)
  • Relationship with God requires worship (John 4:24)

  • He chose His people to save and purify them (2 Thess. 2:13)
  • He is the only Sovereign (1 Tim. 1:17; 6:15)

Because God is holy…

I will devote myself to Him in purity, worship, and service.
“So obey God because you are His children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of doing evil; you didn’t know any better then. But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God—who chose you to be His children—is holy. For He Himself has said, “You must be holy because I am holy ” (1 Peter 1:14-16)
  • God guards His holy reputation (Ezek. 36:21-23)
  • God’s holiness demands exclusive worship (Josh. 24:19)
  • He disciplines believers to impart His holiness to them (Heb. 12:10)
  • His holiness is unique (Exod. 15:11)
  • His holiness is the standard for believers’ behavior (Lev. 19:2; 1 Pet. 1:15-16)
  • His holy presence rejects impurity (Isa. 6:3-5)
  • No one else is holy like He is (1 Sam. 2:2)
  • The most holy One deserves constant honor (Rev. 4:8)

Because God is absolute truth…

I will believe what He says and live accordingly.
“You are truly My disciples if you keep obeying My teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:31,32)
  • believers know that God is true (John 3:33)
  • eternal life is knowing the only true God (John 17:3)
  • even if all humanity lies, God remains true (Rom. 3:4)
  • God is the Truth (John 14:6)
  • God follows through on His promises (Num. 11:22-23; 31-34)
  • God’s words are true and completely righteous (Ps. 19:9)
  • God’s truth is everlasting (Ps. 117:2)
  • God’s word is truth (John 17:17)
  • God’s words are faithful and true (Rev. 21:5; 22:6)
  • God’s truth can be suppressed to our peril (Rom. 1: 1 8ff)
  • He is “the God of truth” (Ps. 31:5; Isa. 65:16)
  • God doesn’t lie but keeps His word (Num. 23:19)
  • He is full of grace and truth (John 1:14)
  • His Spirit guides believers into all truth (John 16:13)
  • the Holy Spirit is characterized by truth in every way (John 14:17; 15:26; 1 John 5:6)
  • true freedom comes from abiding in God’s truth (John 8:31-32)

Because God is righteous…

I will live by His standards.
“Throw off your old evil nature and your former way of life, which is rotten through and through, full of lust and deception. Instead, there must be a spiritual renewal of your thoughts and attitudes. You must display a new nature because you are a new person, created in God’s likeness—righteous, holy, and true.” (Ephesians 4:22-24)
  • His righteousness is absolute (Ps. 71:19)
  • He rules out of righteousness (Ps. 97:2)
  • He is righteous in everything He does (Ps. 145:17)
  • He delights in demonstrating righteousness (Jer. 9:24)
  • in the end, the righteous Judge will judge righteously (2 Tim. 4:8)
  • people must declare humbly God alone is righteous (Exod. 9:27; 2 Chron. 12:6)
  • the Lord’s name: “The L{sc}ord{xc} is our righteousness” (Jer. 23:6; 33:16)

Because God is just…

He will always treat me fairly.
“For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in our bodies. ” (2 Corinthians 5:10)
  • a day is fixed for His righteous judgment of the world (Acts 17:31)

  • the righteous Messiah will establish a righteous people (Jer. 33:16)
  • the righteous God justifies those who believe in Jesus (Rom. 3:25-26)

Because God is love…

He is unconditionally committed to my well-being.
“Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean He no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or are hungry or cold or in danger or threatened with death?” “No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from His love, Death can’t, and life can’t. The angels can’t, and the demons can’t. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell can not keep God’s love away. Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:35, 37-39)
  • as a father, God corrects His beloved children (Prov. 3:12)
  • believers should imitate God’s universal love (Matt. 5:44-45)
  • eternal plans are motivated by His love (Eph. 1:4-5)
  • God loves and preserves His godly people (Ps. 37:28)
  • God loves His people, even when they are faithless (Hos. 3:1)
  • God deserves thanks because of His perpetual love (Ps. 100:5)
  • God loved the world enough to send His Son to die (John 3:16)
  • God loves those who love His Son (and obey Him) (John 14:21)
  • His love is poured into believers’ hearts (Rom. 5:5)
  • God is love, and those who know God love others (I John 4:7-8, 20-21)
  • nothing can separate the believer from His love (Rom. 8:38-39)
  • to love enemies and the wicked is to be like God (Luke 6:35)

Because God is merciful…

He forgives me of my sins when I sincerely confess them.
“Have mercy on me, O God, because of Your unfailing love. Because of Your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me. Do not banish me from Your presence, and don’t take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me again the joy of Your salvation, and make me willing to obey You.” (Psalm 51) or “If we confess our sins to Him, He Is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong.” (I John 1:9)
  • God is love, and those who know God love others (1 John 4:7-8, 20-21)
  • nothing can separate the believer from His love (Rom. 8:38-39)
  • to love enemies and the wicked is to be like God (Luke 6:35)

Because God is faithful…

I will trust Him to always keep His promises.
“Remember that the temptations that come into your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will keep the temptation from becoming so strong that you can’t stand up against it. And when you are tempted, He will show you a way out so that you will not give in to it. ” (1 Corinthians 10:13)
  • forgives the repentant (1 John 1:9)
  • God is faithful to the faithful (Dent. 7:7-11)
  • God deserves thanks for His constant faithfulness (Ps. 100:5)
  • God is faithful through calamity (Lam. 3:22-23)
  • God faithfully matures believers (1 Thess. 5:24)
  • God is faithful to fulfill His promises (Heb. 10:23)
  • His faithfulness endures (Ps. 119:90)
  • His faithfulness is immeasurable (Ps. 36:5)

Because God never changes…

My future is secure and eternal.

  • though the universe will change, God never will (Ps. 102:25-27; Heb. 1:10-12)

Yes I post political and Christian posts, I am ashamed for neither, I must stand in the gap where others won't. I do such out of love, I do such for Him, and I do such because when I don't I am not obeying, not at peace, and am burdened. I love America, I love lost people, and I love God. I remember days of old, when faithfulness, respect, selfless service, and a zeal for God the father and one...'s nation wasn't an offense to my fellow Saints and citizens. I do not apologize for the Word I post, or the reality of the cold hard facts of what is happening in America. I could care less for American Idol, being amused with short term entertainment, and pretending things aren't falling apart morally, spiritually, and socially in America. It doesn't change things to carry on in life like these things aren't happening, because they are. There was a time in America when being a Patriot, being a Biblical based Christian, and a Conservative family man wasn't an offense to your fellow man, church member, or Christian and it will be only a memory, if people cave in and remain quiet. So as Jeremiah penned what God said and says in Jeremiah 20:9 "9 Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, nor speak any more in His name.” But His word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones; and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not hold back." KJV. So it is impossible for me to "kick against the pricks" as Jesus told Saul. I say, and post what I do out of love, a love known as "Phileo" born out of Agape. The truth is things aren't okay in America, and God has something to say about it.

God's Promise Through Moses On National Sin

Judgment of National Sin

God will not allow a nation to mock His precepts, character, and exchanging evil for righteousness, while having the sickening audacity to call it good.  Not even His own chosen people Israel.  Above is a picture of judgment of national sin, upon a people that had become apostate.  God kept the Word He spoke through His servant Moses, Moses last words were ones of warning.

Written in plain black letters Christian, are some of Moses last words to a nation, guided by the Holy Spirit, the by product of national sins, and not standing separate from the world system, not living lives separated and Holy unto the Lord. When we compromise being Holy individually and are not "set apart," we collectively have added to national disregard for morality. Heed the Word of the Lord America:
"28 For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them.
29 O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!
30 How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the Lord had shut them up?
31 For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.
32 For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter:
33 Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps.
34 Is not this laid up in store with me, and sealed up among my treasures?
35 To me belongeth vengeance and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste." (Deuteronomy 32:28-35 KJV) Moses last song to his countrymen.

A Devotion on Christian Obedience by C.H. Spurgeon

"Even thou wast as one of them."
Obadiah 1:11
"Brotherly kindness was due from Edom to Israel in the time of need, but instead thereof, the men of Esau made common cause with Israel's foes. Special stress in the sentence before us is laid upon the word thou; as when Caesar cried to Brutus, "and thou Brutus"; a bad action may be all the worse, because of the person who has committed it. When we sin, who are the chosen favourites of heaven, we sin with an emphasis; ours is a crying offence, because we are so peculiarly indulged. If an angel should lay his hand upon us when we are doing evil, he need not use any other rebuke than the question, "What thou? What dost thou here?" Much forgiven, much delivered, much instructed, much enriched, much blessed, shall we dare to put forth our hand unto evil? God forbid!
A few minutes of confession may be beneficial to thee, gentle reader, this morning. Hast thou never been as the wicked? At an evening party certain men laughed at uncleanness, and the joke was not altogether offensive to thine ear, even thou wast as one of them. When hard things were spoken concerning the ways of God, thou wast bashfully silent; and so, to on-lookers, thou wast as one of them. When worldlings were bartering in the market, and driving hard bargains, wast thou not as one of them? When they were pursuing vanity with a hunter's foot, wert thou not as greedy for gain as they were? Could any difference be discerned between thee and them? Is there any difference? Here we come to close quarters. Be honest with thine own soul, and make sure that thou art a new creature in Christ Jesus; but when this is sure, walk jealously, lest any should again be able to say, "Even thou wast as one of them." Thou wouldst not desire to share their eternal doom, why then be like them here? Come not thou into their secret, lest thou come into their ruin. Side with the afflicted people of God, and not with the world."  C.H. Spurgeon

From Hearts and Tablets of Stone to New Hearts

From Hearts and Tablets of Stone to New Hearts

God's altar of sacrifice isn't a man made altar, never could be. God's law written on stone, could never bring righteousness, for man's flesh abounds in sin under law, yet under grace, God spiritually writes the law upon a man's heart, and His voice through His Spirit, with man to seal him heal Him, and guide him. This is an illustration in Deuteronomy were God is showing the intent of His prece...pts, that man apart from spiritual rebirth could never relate, understand, or obtain:
"5 And there shalt thou build an altar unto the Lord thy God, an altar of stones: thou shalt not lift up any iron tool upon them.
6 Thou shalt build the altar of the Lord thy God of whole stones: and thou shalt offer burnt offerings thereon unto the Lord thy God:
7 And thou shalt offer peace offerings, and shalt eat there, and rejoice before the Lord thy God.
8 And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law very plainly.
9 And Moses and the priests the Levites spake unto all Israel, saying, Take heed, and hearken, O Israel; this day thou art become the people of the Lord thy God.
10 Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the Lord thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day." Deuteronomy 27:5-10 KJV

This is the heart, the crux of the matter, the very essence of what David wrote under the guide of the Holy Spirit,  "10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me." (Psalm 51:10 KJV)
