Why Christian Service?

Luke 22:25-27

Why? Why is it so hard to get people to serve, to get people who call themselves by the name of Christian to serve? As if it were an option, an option no but a choice yes. Be not ignorant Beloved of the Father, we have freedom of choice, but obligation to obey. Christian I beseech you by the grace you call yourself saved, by the very grace that saved the chief of sinners I am. I beseech you to grow past the fallacy of just showing up for Sunday school, worship, or choir practice and prayer meeting is service. Those are individual aspects of our Way were should hunger and desire to do by the grace we so easily claim to save our souls from hell. It does NOT stop there! Grace is just the BEGINNING. Let us look at a simple three verse passage, so little dug into, yet so written for the one who would dare claim grace. "25 And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.

26 But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.

27 For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth." (Luke 22:25-27 KJV)

Jesus illustrates how humanity, fallen humanity at that by reference of Gentile kings, operate. Operating in opposition to the Way, opposition to Christ, oppostition to the Word of God. Also know as sin and emnity against the Most High God. None the different than Lucifer or Adam. Jesus shows the opposite in the very next verse, because of GRACE and REDEMPTION, Jesus shows in verse 26 oh Christian who claims GRACE, His Word that is a command and not an option in regards to service, "26 But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve." But ye shall NOT be so! Ye that doth SERVE! Not an option. Not an option. Not an option! And to show the the authority and the the perfection of HOW it is to be done, look at the last part of verse 27, "...I Am among you as he that serveth." Because of GRACE, you claim the Name Christian, yet you won't serve. Why? It is NOT an option, it is an implied command, it is an act of Christ, a fruit of the Spirit, and the LAW OF LOVE. It is a choice though, for Christ forces Himself on no soul. As it being a choice, there is the implicaltion that means you must choose between your self, your family, your likes, tastes, desires, and flesh, or you choose Jesus. Why won't you serve child of GRACE? Jesus did and does. Are you greater than He?
