The Doctrine Of God part 3 - God is Spirit

The Doctrine Of God part 3 - God is Spirit

"22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."  (John 4:22-24 KJV)
Keep in the forefront and back of your mind, and bury this TRUTH in your heart.  Bury it deep, let it permeate every fold of your brain, every fiber of your being, and let it be the passage that leads you into the presence of God when you go to worship and praise Him.  These are Words of the Word Himself about the ONLY worship that is authorized or even accepted by God.  Let us strip away the flesh, the power point videos, the loud and overbearing contemporary "me" focused lyrics and place the emphasis on a Biblical worship of the Yahweh of the Bible!
God is sovereign, accept it, deal with, and just submit to it, because it is so!  It is written!  Now that is a solid given not up for debate.  With that being said, God is not a humanly perceived physically contained or limited Being.  He is Spirit.  he is NOT constrained by the universe, or held captive by time.  Now before those who like to play the "what about this passage game?"  Before you start, notice those are metaphorical verses, or verses where man guided by the Holy Spirit is using human words and adjectives to chosen by God Himself, to help man understand a message God is speaking.  An example we will use is this:  "Our God is like a rock."  Is Yahweh a piece of granite from the earth He created?  Don't be silly... of' course He isn't!  His character is solid like that of a rock.  See how that worked?  The hinge point of that statement is "like a rock."  Common sense 101 goes along way when listening to what God is saying.
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."  (John 4:24 KJV)  God is Spirit, (pneuma-a spirit, i.e. a simple essence, devoid of all or at least all grosser matter, and possessed of the power of knowing, desiring, deciding, and acting... G4151 Strong's) and we Christians can ONLY worship Him in Spirit and Truth.
a.) We must worship Him with all our Heart, Mind, Soul, Strength, Being, and volitional will.
b.) We must worship in, under, and by the influence and guidance of He the Holy Spirit.
These two points fall under the greatest commandment, which is the heart and essence of the first four of the Ten Commandments.  This is NOT LEGALISM, this is post salvation and Yahweh's acceptable worship.  Look at the big picture of these two points in lieu of the Greatest Commandment of Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, soul, mind and strength.  They are intertwined.  Again common sense 101!
How must we worship Him?  "and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."  Just like Jesus says, in Spirit and in Truth.
a.)  Sincere selfless, not self centered expectancy of return, but sold (souled) out giving of thought, energy, words, money, time, attention is adoration of Yahweh in Spirit.
b.)  Truth?  Truth is sincerely, clean heart, clean hands, clean mind.  Yes we are forgiven of sins condemnation from hell wise positional in Christ.  We also exist in flesh tents that still sin, and still confess and agree with God that the adulteress though we had at the young lady this morning is iniquity, and heaven forbid if we acted on that iniquity and transgressed and fornicated with that young woman we confess and agree with God we sinned.  He then acknowledges our repentance and our benefit is we removed the sin we placed between our self and God, sin He has already forgiven, and our conscious is clean, therefore our hearts, hands, minds, and body are able to worship, because the are True to Yahweh again, hence worship in Truth!

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters."  (Genesis 1:1-2 KJV)
The opening verses of the Bible testify to the Spirit of God, Jesus says God is Spirit, and gives us the specific authorized worship that God expects, and that He will ONLY receive!  It is WRITTEN, so it is so!  And any man who would dispute that which is WRITTEN of God is accursed according to God's own Word.  Beloved if you take anything from this part of Doctrinal exposition of God, let it be WORSHIP HIM IN SPIRIT AND TRUTH, and not in or of OURSELVES! When that happens, Jesus is lifted up, and many come to salvation.  Love in Christ, Jason,
