Day 5 The Dung Gate

Day 5 Beloved The Dung Gate

Nehemiah 3:14

God

"14 But the dung gate repaired Malchiah the son of Rechab, the ruler of part of Bethhaccerem; he built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof."

Notice Beloved how this verse before this gate, starts with BUT, as compared to previous verses about the first four gates.  "Then, there, moreover, and BUT"  are used in the previous verses.  In scripture, when we come upon the Word "but" in passages, we ALWAYS go back and look before the "but" and see what it is contrasting.  Here we have the Dung Gate, and it means exactly what its name infers, the gate that the refuse, waste, trash, and dung was removed through the city.  When the Good Shepherd has His entrance into our lives by way of His Sheep Gate, and He makes us fishers of men by His discipleship, His Word and we begin the Way of walking in His Old Paths [Psalms 119:105] "105 Thy word [Logos-Jesus-John 1] is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."  by way of the Old Gate, we began sanctification by grace and the power of The Word [Jesus] and we walk through the valley's of life with the Good Shepherd along those Old Paths and He does a MIGHTY WORK in our lives, He takes out the dung in our lives!

"But if we walk[paths] in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin [dung]." 1 John 1:7

How many of us who practice engaging evangelism have heard this response?  "I will come when I get my life cleaned up, then I will be ready for God."  HOLD UP THERE my friend, the order of your logic, is slightly out of order.  We of our own accord, cannot inherently by our very fallen flesh nature, clean up what only Christ's blood can remove.  This is a fact my friend, we must come to the Good Shepherd through the Sheep Gate for that saving grace, for that cleansing flood, of His Precious Blood, that we are in His empowerment for the "dung" to be cleansed from our hearts!  We came in by the Sheep Gate, we learned to bring others through the Sheep Gate, by walking through the Fish Gate and fishing for men.  As we disciple these ones who did not know the Good Shepherd nor His gate, this implies we are learning the things of His Word [Logos-Jesus] and then teaching the Old Paths of the Lord and walking in His Way.  This is the process, the order, the precept and foundation of sanctification.

The Dung Gate is named so because this was the gate that the animals dung, human refuse, and trash would be carried out of.  It had a necessary and functioning purpose, if we don't have the same purpose and function, the dung fills our lives and we are a reproach to God.  It's all about the Good Shepherd Beloved.  We must listen for His voice, and follow Him.  Let Him Shepherd us and the dung will come out, where He comes in.

"20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:" [Colossians  1:20-22]                                                                                                                                         This passage in Colossians is a summary of all the gates so far in five days.  We must have our gates ready Beloved.  Please share with the Saints.  Love in Christ Jason
