Next 12 days I will be sharing this awesome teaching that will help your walk in Christ! Share it with ALL Christians please!!!

The Gates of Jerusalem Parallel the Gates of Christian Walk

Nehemiah chapter 3

God

Beloved over the next twelve days, I will show a teaching of the Gospel, and the life application of the Believer's daily walk and conversation in Christ, yes in Nehemiah.  Jesus is the main ingredient so to speak of the recipe of the Bible.  He can be found all through the Old Testament if we but only clear our hearts, minds, and hands...God will speak and show us Himself!

"Then Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brethren the priests, and they builded the sheep gate; they sanctified it, and set up the doors of it; even unto the tower of Meah they sanctified it, unto the tower of Hananeel." Nehemiah 3:1

We see clearly here, notice the name of the gate, the mention of a High Priest and the sanctification!  Old Jerusalem if diagramed, is in the shape of the human physical heart, walls and all.  Let us ask ourselves who is the Gate Keeper of the sheep?  Who is the High Priest?  Who brings sanctification of the human heart?  Keep these questions in your mind as we continue.

"6 This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.
Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.

I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture."  (John 10:6-9)                                                                                                                                                                    Pretty awesome don't you think?  Jesus is the door we MUST NEEDS enter to be saved, and then we are His sheep, and He is our High Priest!  Now let us see Hebrews chapter four and look unto our High Priest Jesus
"14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."  (Hebrews 4:14-16)
To have the High Priest one MUST NEEDS enter the Sheep Gate!  After entering the Sheep Gate, we have the High Priest Jesus.  In Old Testament days the sheep for sacrifice at the Temple were brought in the Sheep Gate located at the Temple area, where the High Priest would be living during his service as High Priest, and He would sacrifice lambs for forgiveness of sins.  See the correlation?  Now to the Lord Who brings us into Christ image via sanctification.  Continuing in Hebrews, let's look at a verse from chapter 13.
"12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate."  (Hebrews 13:12)    "17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." (John 17:17)
See how all of these scriptures, the Word of God are interwoven into a tapestry?  Hundreds of years apart, coming out of bondage in Babylon, one verse of Nehemiah proves the Truth of the Word, centuries later!  When we come through the Sheep Gate to the High Priest, we are save, and sanctified by Jesus our High Priest, all the foreshadowing of the Old Testament Word in the Word of Truth Himself!  That's a God thing folks!  Come back tomorrow and we will study the next gate, and after all 12 Gates, I will give you a map of Jerusalem with the diagram and gates, names and purposes.  Share this with fellow Christians for edification!  Love in Christ, Jason!
