The Largest Prayer Meeting In The History of Man And Time

Luke16:19-31

JESUS

"19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:

28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead."

This is pretty straight forward as parables are concerned. This happens to be a more dynamic of the parables that our Lord speaks. Consider this Beloved, Lazarus and Abraham are named. Think back across the synoptic Gospels and the Gospel according to John, this doesn't happen. This logically leads one to have to consider the intimacy of Jesus' knowledge of a suffering beggar named Lazarus, a rich man, and the great chasm between Hell and Christ.
Notice first: "19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores."

Jesus is aware of both men, their stations of life in intimate detail. "There was a certain rich man, well clothed in colors of royalty, and his circumstances are that he fared well in life. In today's economy he was well to do. House, with gates, pool, many rooms, and pantries and cabinets with more than enough food, ( "desiring to be fed crumbs from the rich man's table...") is the logic of the more than enough food comment. Verse nineteen describes the well to do, lacking in nothing. These are Christ's words, not commentary or the writer of this article. Notice the intimacy of Christ's awareness of both men's circumstances: "20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores."

Jesus is aware of the destitute suffering of Lazarus! Not a sparrow falls from the sky without His knowing, so then we must be aware Jesus knows our situation and circumstances. We also see in this passage where Lazarus was position, " laid at the rich man's gate" meaning the rich man was aware of Lazarus, and we will see this in latter passage. The rich man passed by suffering Lazarus and did not do unto others, he was apparently self absorbed in his sensual and sumptuous life where he had his wants, and needs met and did not keep the Leviticus laws in helping the poor and destitute. "Moreover, the dogs came and licked his sores..." a low point for this soul named Lazarus, who according to his eternal destination, and believed in and on God despite his situation, when in comparison, the rich man was concerned with here and now, his estate, his table, his food, his fine clothing, which points to self reliance and a lack of need for faith and dependency in God or His ways.

     Now the relief and the torment, which we will all have to make the choice between.  The mortality rate for human beings is 100%, meaning we will all die, unless the Lord raptures us.  It is appointed unto us all a time to die, and then judgment.  The type of, and place of judgment will depend upon Whom we place our trust, and NOT IN WHAT WE TRUST.  This is the crux of this story Beloved, the focus of our trust and belief.  And our focus on Whom or what we believe will determine where and what happens when we pass into the next life:  "
22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence."

      After we have died, it is too late to repent, to choose wisely.  The above passage in Christ's own Words illustrate this in the most plain and simple of terms.  We also see that in Hell, memory of Earthly life remains intact, and that the suffering lost and burning soul desperately cries out in prayer!  The soul in Hell will remember every chance they had to receive Christ, every rejection of Truth, every time the climbed over the cross of Jesus to choose Hell, and its consequences.  We also see the lost soul will see the joy of heaven, and will receive NO RELIEF or COMFORT.  There is a great chasm, gulf, canyon of sin they chose to carry on their own, in place of the Lamb.

     A great gulf that ONLY Christ can span, in the choice made before death.  In that choice one will have a changed life, self pursuit yields to the cross of Christ as a person lets Christ reign.  When that happens we help the destitute, we feed the hungry, we clothe the naked and its because of Christ, not in place of Christ.  Not works, faith in Christ that produces love, faith, and hope, and the overwhelming desire to not walk past a starving man on your door step.  We noticed the rich man prayed from Hell, for naught, it was too late.  He is only one of many...many...many who will cry out in prayer, "Lord, Lord help me..."  and it will be too late.  Share with the Saints Beloved, or your witnesses who don't believe in the place of Hell.  With the deepest love of Christ, Jason!
