Day 7 The Water Gate

Day 7 The Water Gate

(NO MENTION IN THE SCRIPTURE OF REPAIR)

God

If we pick up at the end of the passage, about the Fountain Gate,  the next mention of a gate needing rebuilt, is the East Gate.  The East Gate is not next in our counter clockwise journey around the walls of Old Jerusalem, the Water Gate is.  The East Gate is tomorrow's teaching; however, the significant and important purpose of the Water Gate, and the 7th gate in order of location, we come to the Water Gate.  The Water represents the Word of God, so there is absolutely no need to repair it.  It is the only gate of Old Jerusalem, that has not been repaired.  The seventh in numbers of location represents perfection.

"7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes." Psalms 19:7

The passage above from Psalms 19:7 shows God's Word is perfect, right, and pure.  It enlightens the soul to salvation so we can come to the Good Shepherd at the Sheep Gate and have rejoicing in our heart!  God's Word is sure [certain] which denotes its consistency of being in place and in no need of repair.

"12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."  Hebrews 4:12

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:1

As we see above, the Word [Logos-Jesus] has always been  even before there was a beginning for man and our need for a Savior, Jesus was already here!  The next passage is from the middle of your Bible, if you open your bible to the middle, you will find Psalms 119.  In the heart of the Bible is the chapter that describes the importance of God's Word.  If you have never spent time studying the Psalms, go to Psalm 119 and camp out there!  Dwell in that chapter, and hide it in your heart as verse eleven says.

Psalms

119 Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord.
Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.
They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.
Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently.
O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes!
Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.
I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments.
I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly.
Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.
10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.
11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
12 Blessed art thou, O Lord: teach me thy statutes.

"10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." Isaiah 55:10-11

"4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."  Matthew 4:4

There really is no commentary I can add to what is said, to what God said through Isaiah, and what the Word Himself spoke to Satan in the Wilderness Temptation, where Jesus defeated Satan by the power of the Word, Jesus Himself.  Now we see why the Water Gate doesn't and didn't need repair.  Get into the Word Beloved, and tomorrow go worship Jesus the Word, and fill your heart with Him!!!   Love in Christ Jason
