The Race of Endurance

Why do we fall? Why do we fail? Why do we choose OUR way of the WAY? Especially as children of God, which means truly saved. Every instance I recall in the Word (Jesus) also called scriptures, Jesus was either up all night praying, arising up before others praying, or alone praying. This simple illustration proves that He in His human flesh relied on prayer, said no to His own flesh, and fixed His eyes toward Heaven, looking to see where our Father was looking in preparation to be where He "Must needs" to be in obedience to God's will, plan and purpose. Jesus was illustrating faith. Recall the many recorded miracles He did, muse upon them, His response many and most times was, "Your faith has made you whole." In one miracle He said, "I have not seen such faith in all of Israel." The writer of Hebrews through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit would pen, "Without faith it is impossible to please God." We fail when we loose faith, obedience and trust in God's Word, we fall when our faith gives into flesh desire, emotions and we choose self over God, and the Word. Prayers without faith are empty words emptied into the atmosphere. Just vain useless human language, yet when we are in the Word, hearing the Word, obeying the Word our faith grows, we desire communication with the Father, we desire to offer prayers in faith looking where God is looking, walking in the Way, fixing our eyes on the unseen, walking by faith, and NOT by sight (emotions +flesh desire= failure). Remember the Way is a lifelong marathon, that WE run with endurance, its path is the WAY, and its muscle is faith. It is faith in God's grace that we are saved and really walk in sanctification, growing in Christ. Flesh will not enter the Kingdom of heaven, it can't even see the WAY, But eyes of faith see the spiritual, see the Hand of God, and see grace.
"Indeed Jesus taught that He wrought His works by always keeping His inward eyes upon His Father. His power lay in His continuous look at God (John 5:19-21). In full accord with the few texts we have quoted is the whole tenor of the inspired Word. It is summed up for us in the Hebrew epistle when we are instructed to run life's race "looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith." From all this we learn that faith is not a once-done act, but a continuous gaze of the heart at the Triune God. " Quote from Towzer
